of 4 two-hour workshops on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27, 2015. On Saturday night, a gala show will be headlining Anjelica and will include many of the best dancers in the area and from out-of-state. Workshop participants are offered an opportunity to perform in the gala show!

WORKSHOP #1: Baladi Progression
Anjelica’s baladi progression choreography class will help you to increase your technical precision in Egyptian Bellydance, while drawing out each dancer’s individual emotional qualities. Work on enhancing your dance and musicality through learning this choreography.

Join us for a super fun shaabi full of attitude! Learn unique steps and combos that will work up to a sassy choreography (music TBA).

WORKSHOP #3: Samai
Samai Thaqil is a 10/8 rhythm that is complex, rich and heavy and comes from "muwashshah," a genre of secular music from Al Andalus, Moorish Spain. Anjelica will cover Samai combinations and work them into a choreography to Lamma Badda. Be prepared to work arabesques and get in touch with your more balletic side.

Anjelica’s brand of Bellydance Flamenco Fusion is a new skill to add to your performances as well as a new and exciting way of propelling your bellydance to the next level by trying something new. Learn how to mix Flamenco into your Bellydance as well as a choreography.

About Anjelica
Anjelica is an award-winning dancer, innovator, and choreographer of critical acclaim with emphasis on bellydance, contemporary dance, and Flamenco. She has opened for Dina, performed for royalty (Princess of Jaipur), and rock stars (Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson of Rush, Russel Crowe, and Sting). In her career thus far as a bellydancer, she has performed and taught internationally in Europe, the USA, and most recently Jordan. She won 3 categories at Bellydancer of the Universe in 2013 and as a result was inducted into their hall of fame in 2014.
